Our IATI Standard travel policy provides medium level coverage of €300,000 of medical expenses, which is suitable for most holiday packages, especially short and medium journeys, in addition to our classic complementary coverage such as repatriation, theft and damage of luggage, advance money, etc.
Cancellation cover of up to €1,500 can also be added for the eventuality of not being able to depart for one of the reasons covered. Cancellation cover must be taken out at the same time or within the following 7 days of booking the trip to which this insurance policy applies.
Coverage summary IATI Standard
We cover any medical and hospital expenses resulting from an illness or accident while on holiday.
We cover the costs of emergency treatment resulting from acute dental problems, such as infections, pain, trauma, or as the result of an accident.
We cover medical and hospital costs in the event of a motor vehicle accident.
In the event of a life-threatening emergency due to an unpredictable complication of a chronic, pre-existing or congenital condition, we will cover the costs of emergency primary healthcare within the first 24 hours as of admission to hospital
If you are in hospital for more than 5 days, we will cover the travel costs for a family member to accompany you, as well as the cost of their stay for up to €75/day for 10 days.
If you can't find the medication you need abroad, we will send it to you as soon as possible, and you can reimburse us on your return.
If you are unable to return home for medical reasons, we will cover the costs of convalescence in a hotel for up to €75 per day for 14 days.
If you suffer a serious illness or accident, we will cover the costs of emergency transport to the nearest medical centre, one which provides the most appropriate treatment, and even transport home if considered necessary or in the event of death.
In the event of the death or hospitalisation of an ascendant and descendant relative up to the first degree, we will repatriate both you and your travel companion.
If you need to be repatriated due to illness or death, we will also repatriate your insured travel companion.
In the event of a major casualty at your home or business establishment for which you must be present, we will repatriate both you and your travel companion.
We cover theft of luggage using violence or intimidation, providing the corresponding police report, as well as any damage or loss of luggage on public transport, providing the corresponding complaint lodged to the transport company. Computers, tablets and photographic equipment are covered up to 50% of the policy limit.
If the carrier loses your luggage on a regular flight, we will help you find it, and we will send it to you.
If the carrier takes more than 12 hours to deliver your luggage, we will reimburse you for any basic items you may need to purchase, as long as you provide a receipt.
If you have forgotten something or if you recover something that has been stolen during your trip, we will send it to your home.
Refunds for delays
If the means of transport on which you are travelling is delayed in departure for more than 6 hours, we will reimburse you, subject to proof of payment, €50 for every 6 hours to cover part of the costs incurred. Delays due to strikes or social conflicts are excluded.
Help in case of emergency
If, as the result of an accident for which we are covering you, you need to send a message to your family members and are unable to do so, we can send it for you.
If for any reason, you run out of funds to continue your trip, we will provide you with a cash advance, provided you present a guarantor, up to the limit indicated. This cash advance must be refunded within 30 days.
We cover any compensation you are required to pay as liable for involuntary injury or material damage you may cause to any third-party. *This coverage only applies to journeys to and from Spain.
We defend your criminal liability in proceedings brought before foreign courts for events occurring in your private life during your trip.
We claim for damages that you may suffer as a pedestrian or passenger on any means of transport.
We claim for breach of contracts for medical and hospital services, travel, tourism and hotel services, and cleaning, laundry and dry cleaning services.
We claim for breach of purchase contracts for decorative objects, household appliances and personal belongings.
We will also compensate in the event of accidental death during the trip.
We will compensate you in the event of permanent, full or partial disability resulting from an accident during the trip.
We will reimburse any costs you may need to pay when cancelling your trip, which you may not be able to recover directly from the travel provider (flights, hotels, etc.), as long as you cancel before beginning the trip and for one of the reasons covered in this policy. See all reasons in the PDF.
